A 8.82kW metal roof mount, grid tied solar system with REC modules and SolarEdge inverter w/ optimizers

This 8.82kW system was designed by Kenneth, a DIY homeowner. Kenneth was looking for a system that would cover all of his energy needs now and into the future. The system was installed on a metal roof utilizing S-5! clamps, which are capable of handling Colorado's demanding annual snow loads with ease.

This system utilizes:

28 x REC 315w Mono Solar Panels

1 x SolarEdge 7.6kW Inverter and Optimizers

Complete customized IronRidge racking system

And S-5! metal roof attachment clamps

"The project took a couple of months to research and get the necessary permits, but only took 2 weeks to install, with 4 days of help with my son. Most of the work was done in those 4 days. The first 3 days were layout, rail installation, and half of the panel installation. Then I took a week by myself to install conduit, j-boxes, inverter, meter housing, and wire pulls and connections. Then I got the rough electrical inspection. My son then flew out to help with the installation of the other 14 panels. I got the final electrical inspection, and 3 weeks later Xcel installed the production and net meters.
