Trina and Conergy are two high quality solar manufacturers that often get overlooked due to lesser brand awareness from both homeowners and installers when putting together a solar array. The panels that are offered from both Trina and Conergy can save you money and lead to a higher ROI on your system. Both manufacturers offer high efficiency poly panels with panels up to 305w, however they have subtle differences between each one another.
For example, the Trina 305w panels come with MC4 connections, while the Conergy 305w panels have a H4 connection. Both panels can use similar connectors, however the Trina panels will need MC4 crimping pliers specifically for installation. There is also only a 5mm difference between the panels, Trina (40mm) and Conergy (45mm) in depth. This may mean that the panels will need slightly different racking pieces, however they are both compatible with easy to install manufacturers such as IronRidge and UniRac. The Conergy 305w module is currently a clearance item, meaning that they will not be available for long. Once they are out of stock, there may still be different watt modules available.

Trina and Conergy both offer 10 year limited product warranties, and 25 year limited output power warranties. A common misconception about panels that are made overseas is that they do not qualify for the Federal Solar Tax Rebate, however both panels are acceptable for the federal rebate. Check with your state and local counties to see if the panels will qualify for rebates on the state and local level as well. Often times this is not a problem, however every state and county is different in regards to what will qualify for their individual rebates.
In closing, both panels will offer the end user with high quality solar panels that offer a higher ROI than manufacturers such as SolarWorld and Suniva due to their lower cost (please come back for a future blog regarding SolarWorld vs Suniva panels). Each panel has subtle differences from one another and will not affect the ease of the install for do it yourself installers or professionals.
