History

*Silfab Solar headquarters in Mississauga, Ontario

Silfab Solar was founded in 2010 with headquarters in Mississauga, Ontario. Its founding partners include Franco Traverso, an Italian pioneer in the solar energy industry, Pan Asia Solar Ltd., whose principals co‐founded some of the most successful listed PV businesses, including the subsidiary solar cell manufacturer Sunrise Global Solar Energy, and Sino‐American‐Silicon Products Inc., a stock‐market listed provider of premium silicon wafers to the photovoltaic and semiconductor industries.

Silfab began through a series or mergers and acquisitions prior to their official founding in 2010. In 2011, they reached 30 years of experience and business. During September of 2013, they achieved 144 MW/Year manufacturing capacity in their solar plants. July 2014, Silfab Solar successfully delivered Canada’s largest roof-top solar energy system project of 18.1 MW. August 2014, they purchase Flextronic/SunEdison equipment, and in September 2014, Silfab Solar achieved return rates below 40 parts per million.
