Founded in 2007 to 2008 from (UCEP) at the Georgia Institute of Technology with headquarters in Nocross, GA., By Founder, Director, and CTO, Dr. Ajeet Rohatgi. Since 1985, Dr. Rohatgi has been the head of the photovoltaic (PV) research program at Georgia Tech, and the founding director of the U.S. Department of Energy-funded University Center of Excellence in Photovoltaics (UCEP). He is well known as one of the world's leading research scientists in PV technology, with over 15 world records in solar cell performance, and has been the recipient of numerous awards in the field of photovoltaics.

Suniva built its first manufacturing plant in Norcross, GA in 2008, which had an initial production capacity of 32 MW and has since expanded to over 430 MW. During July, 2014, Suniva announced its 200 MW module facility in Saginaw, Michigan. The company holds exclusive rights to more than 100 granted and pending patents developed by Dr. Rohatgi, UCEP and Suniva's own Research and Development team.

ARTisun Star, consistently achieves up to 21% conversion efficiencies, and is made using low-cost manufacturing techniques, which enables us to offer our customers an affordable, high quality product that far surpasses the competition.
