Ginlong Solis manufactures highly efficient solar inverters with compatible inverter monitoring units. Although they are not well known in the solar industry, their quality and low cost makes them a great investment for those who are looking to go solar on a budget. The manufacturer further demonstrates that people do not need to switch quality for a lower cost. They stand by their product with a 10-year standard warranty with the option to extend the warranty period between 5-10 years.
One of their leading features is a lightweight design inside
a corrosion-resistant NEMA 4X enclosure. This makes the inverters not only easy
to install, but visually appealing for indoor or outdoor installations. In
terms of environmental conditions, this makes the inverter compatible with a
number of environmental conditions ranging from dry to humid, hot to cold.
Their single-phase inverters are compatible with 240 or 208 VAC output, making
them flexible for different array needs. Importantly, they have a up to 97.8%
efficiency with an ulta-low start up voltage. Their Solis inverters feature a
dual MPPT design with fast response times and industry leading operating MPPT
range (100-500VDC), with integrated Arc Fault Circuit Interrupt (AFCI) as an
option on all their inverters.

In terms of accessories, Ginglong has a number of accessories
that cover and enhance your inverter monitoring ranging from Wi-Fi Sticks, Web
Boxes, and Rapid Shutdown Device. The Wi-Fi stick provides simple and quick
access to the Internet, giving users the ability to easily check device
information by logging into the monitoring center. The technology is compatible
with all Solis inverters, so users do not need to worry about lengthy and
sometimes difficult compatibility spreadsheets, and can be secure in their
purchase. The web box is an external data logger that can be connected to the internet
for single or multiple inverters through RS485/422. The web box works with
Ginglong’s monitoring center in the same capacity as the wi-fi stick, but
offers users a choice in the type of connection they want. The rapid shutdown
offers further safety measures apart from the integrated arc fault protection
to ensure that your system is never overloaded or damaged.

In terms of sizing the inverters, it is fairly intuitive. Users need to first select the inverter that fits their particular kilowatt needs. As with all inverters, allowing more space than you need is recommended. This enables you to not only add onto the system in the future, but to further protect the system components. This added value feature ensures that you can get much more life expectancy from your inverter and increases how long you can keep your inverter hooked up and working hand in hand with your system. Their efficiency ratings across the years prove to be fairly consistent with little to no loss in inverter efficiency, this efficiency keeps up with your solar panels which is a rarity as solar panel warranty periods continue to outpace other components in the solar array.
One of our favorite features of the Ginglog Solis inverters is the wi-fi monitoring stick, which is the easiest wi-fi system we have seen to date. The free and in depth monitoring offers further incentives to customers as they offer monitoring that on par with other free services such as SolarEdge. However, you do not need to invest in pricy optimizers to be able to use the monitoring services. Though SolarEdge has been making strides to change this system with the HD wave, which has integrated monitoring, Ginglong currently leads the industry in terms of pricing on monitoring for their product. If they are not your first choice in your system, we recommend taking a deeper look to see if your system is compatible and compare them to your first choice.
