Very few people have not heard Tesla's exciting news about their new Powerwall battery. The Powerwall works hand in hand with home solar applications, offering power solutions both at night and during power outages. Tesla will produce both 7kWh, and 10kWh batteries, that equate to 2.0kw of continuous power and 3.3kw of peak power. The models can be combined to produce 63kWh to 90kWh respectively.
The sleek design of the Powerwall provides homeowners with an easy to install battery bank that is wall mounted, which not only saves space, but is also ascetically pleasing. Each battery comes with a 10 year warranty and has 92% round trip DC efficiency.
We are excited to see manufacturing for the Powerwall increase over the next 12 months as we look forward to designing solar systems using the Powerwall as a solar energy system battery back up source. We expect the Powerwall to expand possibilities in both grid-tie, off-grid, and hybrid battery back-up systems.
