Enphase Energy, Inc. (NASDAQ:ENPH) - One of the few tier-one micro-inverter companies dealing in Solar Energy has repeatedly posted losses of -10.92% in the last 5 sessions. A set of 5 stock analysts who cover the stock have an average PT at $2.41, with individual targets in the range of $1.3 to $4.5. As of the last trade, Enphase Energy’s stock traded at $1.06; implying that Wall Street analysts see shares climbing about 127.36 percent in roughly 12 months’ time.
However, on Friday, September 23, 2016, Director Benjamin John Kortlang purchased a sizable sum of 600,000 shares of the stock in the company at $1.2 per share, effectively investing a total of $720,000. This move is seen to be a vote of confidence from the insider moving forward on such a large buy order of the company’s stock.
*Enphase Microinverter
Enphase has been seemingly on a downhill curve as the renewable energy inverter company has struggled to keep up their product line with string inverter manufacturers such as SMA and SolarEdge. A surprising development as the microinverter niche is one that covers a variety of roof-top systems that need this product to primarily deal with shading issues on solar energy systems which might not be viable without the single conversion approach to PV modules.
The Enphase line of micro-inverters and subsequent monitoring applications are regarded as a viable and quality option for many homeowners when looking to install a solar system. The added cost though may be too much for DIY homeowners and small business installers looking to resell the components with other options available for the same quality inverters being available in string or centralized. This has been an increasing problem that we have noticed for some time now, and less demand usually means less sales for the product and its company.
*The Enphase Storage System
As Wall Street analysts see the stock climbing by 127% or so within twelve months, it is important to note what Enphase currently up to; taking a new approach to the Solar Energy market by introducing The Enphase Storage System. In a move that appears to compete with Tesla batteries, Enphase wants customers to be “storage ready” by installing solar along with all the monitoring and metering capabilities that would seamlessly tie into an Enphase system most likely using the Envoy-S Meter.
Enphase’s storage system is told to be a “system, not just a
battery”, an integrated storage unit. Deborah Knuckey states, “If your using
another brand of solar, you can still retro-fit with the Enphase storage
system, because it is compatible with any solar system that you may have.”
*Enphase Energy AC Battery
Each unit weighs 55 pounds (25kg), which makes it simple and easy to install. Enphase also boasts the ease of installation, as it takes less than 2 hours to complete. Paul Nahi, President and CEO of Enphase Energy states, “One person can install the entire storage system in a little over an hour and a half - simply game-changing”.
The Enphase Storage System pairs perfectly with Enphase
Microinverters, among other solar technologies to make the most of your solar
energy system. Boasting lower upfront costs, higher performance, greater
reliability, and safer – the storage system appears to be a good call for
anyone looking for a more integrated and conjunctive approach to tying together
their PV array.
